Our Advisory Board – strategic drivers for Visable’s further development

Visable’s Advisory Board is made up of experienced leaders with extensive expertise in digital B2B retail. Executives from our main shareholder Alibaba.com also contribute their perspectives to the Board and make valuable contributions to the further development of our B2B marketplaces.

Together, the Advisory Board supports Visable’s strategic direction – with the aim of continuously expanding our digital offering and tailoring it even more precisely to the needs of buyers and suppliers.

Patrick Sostmann, CEO Visable GmbH 

Since January 2026 Patrick Sostmann has been CEO and executive partner of Visable. From 2017 to 2021, he was Chief Sales Officer at Visable and was instrumental in driving marketplace growth. Following stints as CEO at Kaffee Partner and LR Health & Beauty Systems, he returned to Visable in 2025 with expanded responsibilities as Chief Commercial Officer. His career began at McKinsey & Company, followed by an MBA at IESE Business School. With his sound management experience and strong customer focus, Patrick Sostmann drives the further development of our B2B marketplaces wer liefert was (wlw) and europages forward.

Karl Wehner, Managing Director Alibaba.com Germany GmbH

Karl Wehner joined Alibaba Group in June 2016 and was appointed Managing Director of Alibaba DACH, CEE and Turkey in July 2017. In 2023 he was appointed Managing Director for Alibaba‘s B2B business in the DACH region. With over 20 years’ experience in digital commerce, he is responsible for helping partners across key European markets access global markets to sell and source through Alibaba’s cross-border e-commerce platforms.Mr Wehner started his e-commerce career at Amazon Germany in 1999, where he launched and managed the Marketplace business. Before joining Alibaba, he successfully built a third-party marketplace for Takealot.com in Cape Town, which has become South Africa's largest e-commerce company.
